As Zootopia 2 gets closer to release, searches for 'Zootopia' are increasing around the world.
With Zootopia 2 coming in 2025, people around the world are searching for release dates, trailers, and cast information. But Disney's website has no Zootopia 2 details, so fans must look across many different sites to find accurate information.
Key findings
Users waiting for the next movie are mostly searching for characters, showing they want deeper exploration of the world.
Competitor research
However, Disney's site lacks Zootopia content, forcing fans to search scattered sites for details.
I analyzed three competitors to see what they focus on and want from their websites. Some emphasized their story and background, while others focused on characters and products. I compared these with the current Zootopia website.

Problem Statement
Users are looking everywhere for a website with correct information about Zootopia all in one place.
HMW
How might we give quick info about Zootopia 2 and let them explore the world through characters?
Develop
Visual design direction & Mood board
I aimed to create a simple website valuable for both fans and new users.
Getting ideas from interesting animation websites, I made a moodboard that thought about promotion and making money through products.
Deliver
User-centered content
Increased engagement by making keyword-driven content (trailers, soundtracks, clips) interactive.
Graphic-driven UI for Zootopia experience
Created dynamic UI using character elements with clear CTAs to guide exploration and conversion.
Branding Through Characters
Designed a flow from character to voice actor info to merchandise, extending the brand into everyday experiences.

Takeaways
01 Grounding design decisions in real user intent
By analyzing global search trends and keyword data, I learned how to translate user intent into clear content priorities and information architecture, rather than relying on assumptions.
02 Business Impact Through User Needs
By aligning user goals (finding Zootopia 2 info) with business goals (engagement and conversion), I created a character-to-merchandise flow that directly connects fan engagement to revenue.
03 Strategic Problem Solving
Instead of redesigning everything, I focused on the core problem: scattered information. This targeted approach shows I can prioritize what matters most within resource constraints.
